The original Defender was the 1947, pre-production Series 1 Land Rover – affectionately named ‘Huey’ after its HUE 166 registration plate. The rest of the legendary Defender’s storied journey is, as they say, history.
Vault’s take on the Heritage Edition Defender honours the very first Land Rover; a bespoke, fully-renovated, 90 pick-up.
The iconic Grasmere Green body colouring with an Alaska White roof harkens back to the colouring of the original Land Rover, and even possesses the evocative badging style of the Series 1 Land Rover.
The bold, Heritage-style grille and front fascia offer an authentic 1940s look, with timeless, body-coloured steel wheels. Bringing up the rear, old meets new as the wheel cover bears the stylish Vault Heritage collection logo and text.
On the interior, the original, rare fabric – the classic almond coloured cloth (with black leather) – seats and trim throughout is complete with Heritage labels and stitching. Wooden decking in the rear bed rounds out this truly unique take on the world’s most iconic adventure vehicle.
